I thoroughly read the reviews on this product, and everyone who wrote before me were SPOT ON with their comments. I honestly have no clue how this furniture is only rated a 3.7. If you read below, I note a spot where I think some people mess up that probably contributed to a lower rating, but the furniture itself is very impressive for the price point. No one will know it was an Amazon purchase-- I'll put it that way.Overview:-- Awesome packaging. Very tight (no shifting/rubbing during shipping), lots of styrofoam, and reinforced cardboard box edges. No wood on wood- every piece is individually wrapped. I was impressed when I opened the box.-- This is real wood, sturdy, and heavy-- This WILL take you 90 minutes to construct if you are doing it alone. I am fairly good at putting together furniture and it was still time consuming. If you are older, or not confident in getting on the floor safely or your screw driver/alignment/drill abilities, definitely pay the extra option to have someone construct it for you.-- DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN!! While tightening screws, when you hear the wood start to stretch, don't push it. You will pop out the other side or break off the wood if you continue to tighten.-- Someone mentioned that when putting on the backing (last step) they first drilled pilot holes. This is a MUST. Couldn't imagine the extra 20 minutes and blisters if I had not used a drill for pilot holes. Thanks for making that recommendation!-- Some people mentioned alignment issues. While I did not encounter any, I could see where people can mess up. There are 3 large pieces that requires 9-12 screws to be sticking out about an inch that lock inside other pieces. If you do not put these screws in perfectly straight, you WILL have alignment issues. These screws strip very easily so you really only have one shot. Take your time and use a screwdriver. A drill will most likely strip them.-- Cubbies are 13 inches tall and 12.25 inches wide-- perfect for 12x12in baskets.-- I bought the Russet Brown color and it is dark brown, but not espresso dark (which is black/brown, in my opinion). I have a dark cherry wood piece of furniture nearby and they are both dark enough appear matching. I was disappointed they didn't offer dark cherry, but this color certainly works fine.In summary, buy with confidence! I am not a big "review writer" but I could not believe this product is only a 3.7. My wife was actually mad at me when she saw the rating after I purchased, so I was a bit nervous, but we are both very pleased now.
